The Phoenix and the Dragon

The Phoenix and the Dragon, Glenwood Street, Jackson, WY, USA

The Phoenix and the Dragon is an Asian-inspired restaurant in Jackson Hole operated by culinary couple Eric and Zarina Sakai. What originated as a pop-up kiosk inside Jackson Whole Grocer evolved into a brick and mortar location in downtown Jackson. The Phoenix and the Dragon serves food prepared from scratch and made to order, with flavors influenced by Eric and Zarina’s childhoods in Hawaii and the Philippines, respectively. Owner Zarina says, “We believe in providing healthy food that is satisfying, flavorful, and affordable.” Almost everything on their menu is dairy free, with plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options, as well. We recommend starting with a plate of the Xi’an Street Fries and a delicious Lilikoi Ginner Shandy, followed by the Pancit Bihon – a filling vermicelli noodle stir-fry.

Great food, quick and friendly service. I’m a Caesar salad connoisseur and this Caesar is a 10! Can’t wait to come back.

Amazing! So good for gluten-free. Fresh, filling, generous portions. Tons of vegetables. Perfect for post-ski when you want to eat well without being unhealthy.

Got a Poke Bowl here and it was god damn delicious for my first ever bowl. The staff were very friendly and were more then happy to help out with my odd allergies and dislikes of certain foods. It was a very large bowl for the price and would definitely eat there again.

The poke bowl was as close to Hawaiian style as you can get without the long flight. I fell in love with poke at Mama’s Fish House and this is as close as I could get to it minus the tropical breeze and Pacific Ocean. This place is a great for those traveling through looking for something different from the usual or simply looking for a great meal. Mete, the hostess with the mostess, made our experience all the more lovely. Keep up the good work and we hope to stop in again next time we’re in town.

Was very excited to try this place, given the background of the husband and wife running the restaurant (CIA trained, Four Seasons restaurant experience, etc). As someone who grew up in Hawaii, I had high hopes that were met! Everything we tried was bursting with flavor. Really liked my salmon bowl. At $19 this is a steal. The dairy free soft serve was also excellent. Great food, atmosphere, and overall experience.
