The most amazing lodging experience you can have in Jackson Hole! High on a bluff just south of town, with 360 degree views of the Teton Range - the ranch is like no other in the Valley. It's 10,000 sf of elegant yet rustic living space, contains 8 suites filled rustic European antiques, and vintage western art. There are 8 fireplaces, most of which Frank has going throughout the house from morning to night. Frank - the owner - has owned the Ranch for 30 years. He is gracious, fun and goes out of his way to provide special touches that make guests feel at home. All of our children, family and guests had a special memory of Frank's generosity and kindness. The home is filled with stories - each one with a story that Frank is only too happy to share as he was good friends with the previous Dutch Baron who lived here previously. The fresh eggs every morning and Cowboy Coffee from local award winning Jackson roaster, made country breakfasts with our family and friends like no other. Located close to all that Jackson Hole has to offer, ask Frank to recommend the best Fly Fishing Guides, the best whitewater rafting companies, and the best horseback riding in the Valley. He knows them all. Since returning full time to Rancho Alegre in the Fall of 2016 the Ranch has taken on new charm and been restored to its former historic status as the premier family Lodge in the Valley.

Great place for a large group to stay. It's like a mini Hearst castle. Complimentary fresh eggs; just have to cook them yourself.

Our family of 21 (10 adults and 11 kids) spent a week at Rancho Alegre Lodge and it was, as several of the kids said, "the best week ever". Before I describe how amazing it is, I should first say that it's a bit rustic and eclectic. It's not air conditioned (generally not a problem in Jackson) and a number of windows don't have screens (but enough do), and it could use a good cleaning. If you're looking for a five star resort with daily maid and turn down service, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a place with incredible comfort, spectacular views, non-stop entertainment (and I don't mean kids on video games) this is it. Rex and Connor are the sons of the owners and were our hosts during our stay. There wasn't anything they wouldn't do for us from organizing daily afternoon whiffle ball games (Rex even mowed base paths into the lawn), to building fires in the firepit, to offering to go into town to pick up some milk or something else we needed. Heck, they even baby sat for the kids when the adults decided to go into town for dinner. We got back around 10 or so and Rex and Connor had all of the kids together playing a game of Sorry. Then there's the 32 chickens, 8 goats, 2 pigs, geese and now 6 turkeys. The young kids headed out early every morning and gathered fresh eggs for breakfast. It was simply an amazing experience. The only downside to our Rancho Alegre vacation was that the day before we were headed to Yellowstone, the torrential floods came in and closed the park. It was disappointing, but as one of the kids said..."I'm glad we couldn't go to Yellowstone because now we have to come back". And we will!! Thanks Rex and Connor.

We loved our stay at Rancho Alegre. We had a special family event here and it was perfect. Beds were comfortable, lots of room for a big group, cute bar area and gorgeous master bedroom with views of the Grand Tetons. This home does not disappoint. We loved having it as part of our special event!
