Took the WFR course in November 2022. Great course. Great instructor. Jake was very engaging and made us all feel comfortable jumping right in for the hands on scenarios. The Wilderness First Responder course offers an incredibly practical approach to backcountry emergencies.

I think everyone should take the Wilderness First Responder course! The instructors Jake, Erynn, Zyna, and Megan are all amazing. It's great to hear from all their different perspectives and experiences. Once you complete the course, it makes you feel like more of an asset in the backcountry or just life in general! So much more than your basic first aid course. I am very grateful just to have been in the presence of the instructors and also the like-minded classmates it introduced me to. Knowledge has been earned and friends have been made. 10/10 recommend! #livebetterinthebackcountry

Taking my WFR through JHOLI is one of the best decisions I’ve made in quite some time. Not only for myself - but ultimately others I intend on recreating with and exploring the greater outdoors with. The course curriculum was thorough yet practical in the ways of wilderness medicine and backcountry rescue, while also exemplifying healthy lifestyle choices and shining a light on deeper human connection. Jake, Zina & co. are incredibly passionate, engaging individuals. They simultaneously keep things fun and light-hearted, as well as challenging your decision making skills, expanding your intellect and prompting growth - both personally and professionally. Participating in the Wilderness 1st Aid Course with Jake was extremely informative and fun! He creates an amazing learning environment which promotes great group interaction, transparency about wilderness medical situation and ‘tricks of the trade’. It provides me with confidence to be in the outdoors and handle situations within my scope of training. Thanks Jake for being an exceptional educator!

JHOLI recently provided Wilderness First Aid and CPR training to 16 members of my organization. Jake and Zina were great very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and engaging. It was a good class, and would do it again.
