Jackson Hole Fly Fishing School

Hat a fantastic day on the water with this company and Quinn, our guide. Our family of four (two teenage sons) had never fly fished before but climbed in a drift boat for a couple of great hours. I am hooked (pun intended). Quinn was a great guide. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Our family did the private Walk Wade School in June 2025, and it was one of our BEST experiences in the Jackson Hole area. This is not your run of the mill "stick a pole in your hand and point you to the water" operations. Brian has thoughtfully crafted a true experience, and our guides Jack and John, implemented it to perfection. Their depth of knowledge and passion for the sport were amazing as was their desire to share it with our group. We were educated and entertained, and came away with a true appreciation of the sport of fly fishing. We were absolute novices to the sport, and came away with some great skills and the desire to make fly fishing a part of our next vacation. Some members of our group even caught fish. However, the true testament to this operation is that we would have come away just as thrilled with our experience if we hadn't! I would not hesitate to recommend this experience to any group. I was really anxious about trying fly fishing, even though I've always wanted to. But from the moment I booked with Brian, I had a good feeling about it—he's a class act! My husband and I went on a wade walk today with our guide, Jack. It was incredible. His kindness, patience, and humor were surpassed only by his deep knowledge and expert guidance. I have been blessed in my life to have some days that I consider one of the best days in my life. Yesterday, I was able to add a day to that list. I love fly fishing and have always wanted to fish the Snake River. I floated and fished with a pretty amazing young guide named Quinn. He was so wise, knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and PATIENT! He guided me to catching 35 beautiful fish! It was a day I will NEVER FORGET!! Quinn is now a person that will forever live in one of the best days in my life. I’ve been fishing with Jackson Hole Fly Fishing School annually for the past three years, and every trip has been exceptional. My guide, Austin, is fantastic—he’s knowledgeable, skilled, and incredibly adaptable to all experience levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned angler, Austin makes the day both productive and fun. He’s great at reading water, offering tips, and ensuring you get the most out of the experience. Thanks to Austin I landed a 19 inch Cut Throat this year which was a gas. The school itself is professionally run under Brian’s leadership. Everything—from booking to gear to the guiding experience—is smooth and well organized. It’s clear they take pride in what they do. The value for the quality of instruction, equipment, and time on the water is outstanding. Highly recommend to anyone looking to learn, improve, or just enjoy a great day fly fishing in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
