They do an excellent job every time!

I worked here for a while. The team was fantastic. The owner on the other hand…. Refused to pay his employees according to the terms of our contract. I have been trying to get in touch with them regarding this matter and they refuse to communicate about it. It’s a pathetic way to run a business, taking advantage of hard working young people.

We hired Hughes to do some bistro lighting in the yard for our wedding. First, communication was atrocious. Getting in contact someone took three unanswered emails and a phone call, and even then, I had to remind them why I was calling. In future contact, mentioned below, he even told me I was "hounding" him when I hadn't heard back for two weeks. We exchanged various emails with extremely specific detail (including photos, videos, exact dimensions and requirements for the space). When the guys showed up, they had no idea what they're doing, and what they had was not all all what we discussed. The property manager spoke with the team installing while we were there, only reiterating the requirement for it to not interfere with a moose walking through (which I also mentioned many times in these email exchanges), which I guess was misunderstood. They left and said they'd be back after tending to another job. I then received a phone call from the manager saying things like "this isn't worth our time" and "this is turning into a problem I don't want to deal with." Keep in mind, the property manager said nothing in opposition to what they were doing, just wanted to be sure they were high enough. This is all happening the day before my wedding, at my rehearsal dinner. After back and fourth, they called to tell me they're just going to pull out, after I spoke with the property manager, confirming there wasn't an issue, and was extremely rude about it. Clearly upset, knowing I don't have another option the day before my wedding and my reception is OUTSIDE with no other light, I reminded him of this, and somehow convinced him to just leave it (they had almost finished but left when this all went down), and then he hung up on me. This whole operation was unorganized and unprofessional. The only reason I give one star is because the lights were there and the people who put them up, who were just following (wrong) direction, were reasonable and professional with us and got it done. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking for a business that values and is respectful towards their customers that pay almost $2k for four strings of bistro lights.
