Fireside Buffalo Valley RV Park

Staff is beyond rude, it’s way over priced, and the sprinklers will come on and soak you and all of your stuff when you’re outside enjoying the afternoon. Staff doesn’t care and will refuse to turn the water off. They were literally inside drinking at the bar and shrugged their shoulders and said that’s a maintenance issue. Then they will yell at you in front of your children for burning their grass with the fire pit when you place the fire pit where the grass is already brown from the previous campers. When we arrived the person at the desk gave the fire pit to my husband and said to take it himself to save the staff some time. Not sure why they needed more time? The place is a dump and there were hardly any campers there at the time. If they’re so particular about where the fire pit goes maybe they should place it themselves. The spots are small so I’m not even sure why they would offer a fire pit because there is no where else to put it unless you put it in the middle of the road. My husband told them the grass was already brown and they called us liars and kicked us out on our last night 4 hours before we’re supposed to be dressed and ready for family pictures for our 10 year anniversary. We just spent 3 weeks on the road and stayed at some incredible campgrounds that were so kid friendly, polite and helpful and this place wasn’t one of them. Needless to say I won’t be back.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Grand Teton NP and we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Mickey and Kris who handled maintenance duties. The sites were gravel but level and relatively close together. The scenery was very nice. The Tetons to the West, mountains to the south and grasslands to the north and east. The parks' best feature is its proximity to Grand Teton NP. You are about ten minutes from the Moran entrance. I only gave the park 4 stars because they had no WiFi. The other utilities are fine. But we survived on our AT&T cell service which worked pretty well. Bottom line though, I would stay here again if visiting the area.

With the exception of the maintenance worker, the staff appeared more focused on their needs rather than hospitality. Stayed one night before moving across the river to dispersed camping. Their strict no-exchange/return policy in the store wouldn't have seem so extreme except for the compassionless attitude from the clerk/manager. Fuel prices were 25% higher than the nearest service center in the park five minutes away. At least when I overpay at Disney I get a smile and sense that I'm welcome there. Horses in pasture were fun to watch.

Great location if you want access to the Tetons and south Yellowstone, but not able to find a spot in either NP. Beyond that, it's pretty basic. Full hook-ups, but no wifi. Not sure about all sites, but the east location, site numbers above 100, were very rough and difficult to walk on for someone with stability issues.(Visualize cattle/horse pasture with gravel driveways for access and RV parking. Site driveways are centered in the sites, which really limits the activity space on the right side of the RV. Honestly, the site RV parking spot should be 4-5' left of where it is, closer to the utility hook-ups. Thus, giving more usable space for the picnic table and fire pit. Staff we encountered were approachable and accommodating.

My go-to KOA/GoodSam searches for a campground in or near the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone came up short, and the National Park campgrounds had no availability. I'm so happy to have found Fireside Buffalo Valley RV Park! They're located on US-26 right next to the Grand Teton National Park and only 45 minutes from the Yellowstone south gate. It is a beautiful two-hour drive to Old Faithful. We arrived after the office closed, but the bartender and maintenance guy who checked me in were very friendly and helpful. The price is comparable, the pull-through spot fit my 35' motorhome and toad vehicle, nice amount of grass between sites, clean bathrooms and laundry. Oh, and with an amazing scenic view of the surrounding mountains! I'll be back!
