Dornan’s Snake River Angler and Scenic Float Trips

Our 10 mile scenic float trip with Jordan was excellent! He was super informative and we enjoyed learning all about the history and wildlife in the area.

Took the 4pm rafting trip on Thursday. Thanks to the observant eye of our skilled, experienced guide, Michael, we saw elk, a mother moose and her calf, eagles (bald and golden) and learned quite a bit of the local history from why some mountain passes got their names and how to correctly pronounce local names (gros ventre). Michael also made sure to find something of interest to each person along on the trip, from the youngest to teens to the adults. Great trip in an awesome location. Will be taking this trip again my next trip out!

I booked a scenic float trip 1month in advance and received a confirmation e mail. Dornan’s canceled the float at 5:19pm via e mail the night before an 11:30 am float because the didn’t have enough people book. I wouldn’t count on them to get you on the river.

My friends and I did a float trip on Wednesday June 15th and we absolutely loved it. The 13 mile stretch of the river we were on was gorgeous with incredible mountain views and no other people on the river. Kylie was our guide and she is a naturalist who was both knowledgable and engaging. I didn't expect anything beyond having a few landmarks pointed out, but we ended up learning a lot about the area, its history, and the plants and wildlife. Also on our trip was Kylie's supervisor Scott who was also very knowledgable and personable and also great at pointing out and describing the birds and wildlife which was so much more interesting than I could have imagined. The float trip was relaxing without ever being boring, the boat was comfortable, and the guides made us feel safe without making us feel complacent about the possible dangers. We got lucky with the weather until the end, but once the rain started they had ponchos for us and it was no problem. We spent a week in Jackson with time spent hiking in Grand Teton and exploring Yellowstone, but the float trip was probably the most fun, interesting and memorable thing we did. I can't recommend it highly enough.

September raft trip with Jordan was fun and informational. Mid day, so most wildlife was birds: eagles, unusual ducks, geese, etc. Loved the history of the area, as well as the relaxed ride and scenic views.
