Cache Creek Trailhead
-
As a local resident this is our favorite go-to trail for hiking. You will find us and our pug on the trail 5 days a week doing variations of loops. This trail is the best trail to get out and get a workout in or do some out in mountain biking. Most the tourist head out to GTNP. The cross-country skiing here in the winter is excellent as well.

Great for cross country skiing or snowshoeing! Beautiful forest views and photo ops. Snowshoers, be careful to not walk over cross country skiers’ tracks. They prefer to keep them intact so that they can return on the same path.

Great multi use trail. Saw casual walkers, runners, cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and fat bikes on this trail. Runs parallel to the creek and in the valley of 2 mountain sides. I used my snowshoes to hike up the mountain sides to get a higher and challenging hike on the way in, then took them off to walk the trail back in my hiking boots. Would definitely do it again.

Hiked on April 9, 2022. I walked to the parking lot from my hotel, which was about 2 miles away. I didn’t want to walk on the road so I veered off to a side trail called the sidewalk trail. There were patches of snow, but my tennis shoes worked fine. From the sidewalk trail, I picked up the Putt Putt Trail tot he Wiggle Connector until I came across the Cache Creek Trail, which was pretty icy…my ice skating skills came in handy.

This is a great place for an in-town hike or bike ride.
