Last year my wife and I went to the Teton mountains, we had planned this trip in 2022 and it just so happened to be my 50th. anniversary of visiting the park for the first time as a teenager. The Tetons are my most favorite mountain range ever since that 1973 family vacation and I named my first dog a Wolf/Husky hybrid after those mountains. It was a 14 day trip as we took our time going out there and spending a week in the park. We also did the Lake Solitude hike as well. Wyoming is one of my favorite states, I guess there's a bit of Cowboy in me. We'll eventually go out west again and maybe go through the park just to get another fix of the splendid grandeur.

The park's beauty extends beyond its peaks, with a diverse ecosystem that includes pristine lakes, vibrant meadows, and dense forests. Wildlife is abundant; it's not uncommon to see moose, elk, and occasionally bears, making it a fantastic spot for wildlife watching. Popular activities in Grand Teton include hiking, boating on Jenny Lake, and fishing in one of the many alpine lakes. Hiking opportunities abound, ranging from easy nature trails around Jenny Lake to challenging treks in the backcountry. One of the most famous hikes is the hike to Inspiration Point, accessible via a scenic boat ride across Jenny Lake followed by a steep climb that rewards hikers with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding peaks. The park is also less crowded than its northern neighbor, Yellowstone, which adds to its appeal for those seeking a more serene experience. However, visitors should be prepared for rapid weather changes and cooler temperatures due to the high elevation. For dining, the nearby town of Jackson offers a variety of options, from casual cafes to upscale restaurants, making it a great base for exploring the park.

Absolutely great visit to one of the best National parks in our country. Our family enjoyed the fall colors on the way up to Jackson Hole and seeing all the beautiful parts of the park including a lot of animals!
