Yellowstone Forever

One of my favorite parks. June is still quiet. Weather is warming up and wildlife is abundant. In our first day we saw 4 black bear, 4 cubs, red dogs everywhere, 2 wolves, coyote, sandhill crane family and so much more. Rangers are always friendly, just follow the rules. We came for photographing wildlife. Stayed away from the tourist traps. Too many people đ We treat the park like a figure of 8. Bottom half is warmer, flatter and has the tourist stuff. Top half is where we always see more wildlife. Whatever you do have fun, enjoy and respect the parks beauty. Excited for day 2

âââââ Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming is an iconic wilderness destination, established as the first national park on May 1, 1872. Encompassing nearly 3,500 square miles, it boasts dramatic canyons, lush forests, alpine rivers, hot springs, and gushing geysers, including the famous Old Faithful. Visiting Yellowstone is a must for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike. The park offers a range of activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, horseback riding, camping, picnicking, and more, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. Entrance fees are reasonable: $80 for an annual pass, $35 per private vehicle, $30 per motorcycle, and $20 for pedestrians. The best months to visit are from May to October, when the weather is conducive to outdoor activities and wildlife viewing is at its peak. Whether you're captivated by geothermal wonders or the tranquility of its forests and rivers, Yellowstone National Park promises unforgettable experiences and breathtaking landscapes that showcase the natural beauty of America's first national park.

We came to this park so many times and never got tired of the national aspect of this park! On this particular trip, we came at the end of May, and it was spectacular, albeit the crowds. We go to see many major attractions as well as some wildlife. I would spend a minimum of two days here to see most attractions. Plan ahead and be patient!

If you havenât been, GO! We used the west entrance and while it was busy, it wasnât overwhelming and we loved having the town of West Yellowstone available for gas and food before/after the park visit. We saw pretty much everything we wanted in two days but I would highly recommend 3-4 days if you have the time. We got stuck in a two hour traffic jam leaving the park the first day and a 1.5 hour jam trying to enter the second day. Both were due to accidents and while it was annoying, it wasnât awful. We visited last week, the very first week of June and while the crowds werenât too bad, we were definitely sick of seeing people by the end of the second day. If you visit in the height of summer, prepare for very large crowds and parking fiascos. Give yourself plenty of time and bring all your patience. I promise itâs worth the visit! ALSO, to save a little bit of time, buy your entrance pass online! And if you plan on visiting Tetons as well, order the annual America The Beautiful pass. Just be aware that itâs mailed out so order well in advance!
